Billy Currington Biography William Matthew Currington was born on November 19, 1973 in Rincon, Georgia and is an American country singer and songwriter. Billy currently resides in Nashville and is single with no children. Billy sings everything from romantic ballads to songs that show his hillbilly side. No matter what he does, Billy will always stay with his southern side of his life. Billy Currington's parents raised him listening to records by Kenny Rodgers, Waylon Jennings, and Willie Nelson. Billy Currington released his first album called "Billy Currington" in 2003, which got Billy really started in the country world. His first single from the album was "Walk A Little Straighter" which is a very beautiful and popular song. This single reached number 8 on the country charts. His second single from the album was "I Got a Feeling" which is a more up-tempo song about loving someone. This single reached number 5 on the country charts. In 2005, Billy released his second album entitled "Doin Something Right". He went straight to number 1 with his first single from the album called "Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right". His second single from the album only went to number 13 with "Why, Why, Why". His third single went to number 6 on the charts with "Good Directions".
