Akon Biography

Akon, born as, Aliaune Daye Thiam was born in Senegal and eventually moved to the USA in fact, New Jersey. Akon loved singing, but found himself falling into the criminal way of life and soon found himself doing time. While sitting in jail he worked on his music to pass the time away. After doing his time, he started recording tracks in a home studio and then went on to get a deal with SRC/Universal. That's when his first album Trouble was released. His first song released was "Lonely" which made him a top billboard artist. He went on to release other songs including "Soul Survivor", "Locked Up", and "Bananza (Belly Dancer)".

Akon has also teamed up with different artists for various songs as well. Akon has hooked up with Eminem, T-Pain, Baby Bash, Justin Timberlake and many others. His follow up album Konvicted has Akons two latest hits "Smack That" and "I Wanna Love You". Many of Akons hits are also the latest and hottest ringtones that are available at any ring tones provider. Akon has also been known to sell out tickets at every show he has done. You can also catch Akon on almost any awards show performing or receiving an award for his music.

Akon is a mix between West African-styled vocals with East Coast and Southern-styled beats. Some songs that Akon has done, has been a reflection of the events in his life or songs having to deal with girls and sex. Akon has been a big success and will be even bigger in years to come, as well.
